Since the company's creation in 1973, CEI has been a pioneer of international production and coordination services. This year, CEI is celebrating its 35th Anniversary and will be commemorating the milestone on December 5th, 2008. CEI is an international "one stop" production company which emphasizes educational films, documentaries, commercials, and also acts as liaison between Japanese clients & celebrities in the fields of film, sports, music, & graphic arts for endorsement contracts. She has produced more than 300 projects and she has worked with celebrities from all over the world such as Yul Brynner, Sammy Davis, Jr., Julie Andrews, Pablo Casals, Brooke Shields, Janet Jackson, Scottie Pippin, Quentin Tarantino, Naomi Campbell, Steven Spielberg, Mikhail Gorbachev, Carl Lewis, Marion Jones, Ferenc Cako, Farrah Fawcett, Roger Moore, Stefan Edberg, Sergey Bubka, Diego Maradona, Sheena Easton, Edwin Moses, the Rolling Stones, and many others.
Dr. Agishi was born in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan. Her father, Mr. Mitsuo Osada passed away in June 2000 at the age of 94 and was a former high school principal & an official Japan delegate (judge) to the international Olympic Winter Games for the ski jump. Her mother, Mitsue, lives in Sapporo and is now age 92. Akiko's husband, Mr. Mitsuho Agishi (deceased) was a talented aerial photographer. Akiko is the mother of two sons, Ray (30) and Jun (29). Akiko came to the USA as a Fulbright Scholar and graduated from UCLA in Higher Education & Contrastive Analysis in Linguistics, 1975.
- Co-founder of World Children's Baseball Fair with Sadaharu Oh & Hank Aaron, World Home Run Kings, in 1989. This summer, they celebrate their 19th Anniversary in Nagoya, Japan.
- Founder of Japanese Language Scholarship Foundation (dba Aurora Foundation) in 1998, celebrating the 10th Anniversary on October 3, 4, & 5.
- Recipient of 2001 CHA M. & L Schwartz Humanitarian Award
- Recipient of 2005 Senator Daniel Inoue Cherry Blossom Leadership Award at the 4th Annual Pasadena Cherry Blossom Festival on April 2, 2005
Akiko's hobbies are skiing, ballroom dance, and traveling and cruising worldwide.
